Chairman Shrestha attends SBAN's programme

On the eve of the 30th Annual General Meeting of the Stock Brokers Association of Nepal (SBAN), a program focusing on the capital market and the broader economy was held in the capital on Thursday. The event was graced by Honorable Santosh Chalise, Chairperson of the House of Representatives, Finance Committee, as the Chief Guest, and Mr Santosh Narayan Shrestha, Chairman of the Nepal Securities Board (SEBON), as the Special Guest.

During the program, SEBON Chairman Mr. Santosh Narayan Shrestha praised the role played by securities brokers in the growth and improvement of Nepal's capital market. He also extended congratulations and best wishes for the unification of two separate associations into a single unified organization.

SEBON Chairman Mr. Shrestha emphasized the slogan "Fair, Transparent & Resilient Capital Market" and expressed his commitment to prioritizing the protection of general investors' interests. He stressed the need to tackle unethical practices in the market, such as manipulation, insider trading, share cornering, and circular trading, with strict measures. He also urged securities brokers to pay special attention to ensuring the timely clearing and settlement of securities traded, as this is a primary concern for general investors.

The event was chaired by Mr. Dharma Raj Sapkota, President of the organizer, Stock Brokers Association of Nepal (SBAN).
